Temporary Accommodation - another joint project with Norwich City Council

The Trust continues to manage an additional 3 Temporary Accommodation houses (15 beds) in partnership with Norwich City Council. These bedspaces offer the Housing Options team in Norwich City Council an alternative to bed and breakfast for people who are owed a duty of care by the local authority whilst their homelessness status is being assessed. 66 people used the service in the 12 months ending 31.3.13 (65 in 2011/12) and the beds were occupied for 92% of the time. 29 people had their homelessness application accepted 926 IN 2011/12); in other words Norwich City Council accepted they had a statutory duty to re-house them.  26 people were found to be either “intentionally homeless” or in “no priority need”; in other words Norwich City Council declared that they had no statutory duty to re-house them.  the Trust must therefore attempt to find some accommodation solution for this group. As with the Group Homes the Trust has continued to invest in improving the standard of accommodation at these houses.
