Preparations are under way for the annual Christmas Cribs and Trees Festival at Rosebery Road Methodist Church in Norwich. This year the church has chosen St Martin’s Housing Trust as its charity to support. There will be donation jars in the church.
The Festival gets bigger each year, now featuring well over 350 very varied and unusual Nativity sets, as well as embroideries, wall hangings, pictures and puppets and plates.
The Christmas trees will be decorated with Nativity figures as well as with traditional seasonal items.
The Festival will be open on December 7th, 8th, 13th, 14th, and 15th from 10.30 am until 4pm finishing with a Christingle Carol service at 4 pm on the final day. On Sundays it will be open from 12 noon.
On Friday 13th at 11 am we invite visitors to sing carols with us, with the opportunity to choose their favourites.
Informal organ recitals by Tim Patient will take place at 11am on both Saturdays, and there will be model railway displays by Norham’s Model Railway Club in the church hall.
Although not part of the Festival, there will be a Christmas concert by Norwich Singers at 7.30 pm on Saturday 14th December. People attending the concert will have opportunity to donate to St Martin’s Housing Trust if they wish.
There will be light refreshments available each day, as well as craft, pickle, and second hand book stalls for church funds.
Parking is available in the school playground opposite.
