We are appealing for donations of homemade cloth face masks to give to the people we support.
While these masks provide only a small degree of protection, covering the nose and mouth in a breathable mask may help people feel more confident when they go out in public and as social distancing rules change.
We welcome donations of 2 ply masks to fit adults made of washable fabric that can be tied or fastened with elasticated ear loops. The mask should cover the nose, mouth and chin.
The best fabric for homemade masks is a tightly woven, 100% cotton fabric. Things like bed sheets, curtains, and woven shirts are good options if they’re made entirely out of cotton.
We invite anyone keen on sewing to make a mask or two for us.
