Locum Cook / Chef – Highwater House

£9.94 - £10.34 an hour, depending on experience. Possible working hours: Mon – Sat 7.30am – 6pm, and Sun 7.30am – 2.30pm

Highwater House, a dual diagnosis unit providing residential care for 22 adults with mental health and substance misuse issues and is rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). As winner of The Great British Care Awards 2020, staff at Highwater House have been recognised as a truly inspirational team that have reshaped the model of care for homeless people and those that have been rejected by much of society.

We are looking for Cooks / Chefs to provide cover for holiday and sickness to provide nutritious meals for residents within the care home.

We are looking for:

  • Experience working as a chef/cook in a residential and/or commercial catering setting.
  • Up to date knowledge of food safety inspections, and all relevant health and safety and food hygiene certification.
  • Evidence of emotional resilience and tenacity to provide support, even when faced with resistance.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
