Senior Support Worker – Bishopbridge House, FTC till Jan 23

Full-time, 38 hours per week. Salary £21,269- £24,920. Fixed term contract until January 2023

St Martins, has a vacancy for a Senior Support Worker at Bishopbridge House, St Martin’s 30-bed direct access hostel.  The hostel aims to provide an effective life skills and resettlement service for single homeless people.

The post holder will assess residents’ abilities and develop an achievable resettlement action plan for individual residents, involving them and getting them to work together with other residents where appropriate and review progress of assigned residents.

We are looking for:

  • Someone with the passion and drive to support anyone finding themselves in this situation.
  • Someone who can promote a positive, non-institutionalised stimulating environment to maximise opportunities for independence, improved wellbeing and achievement for our residents.
  • Someone who can develop positive relationships with residents with the aim of encouraging change and engagement.
  • Evidence of emotional resilience and tenacity to provide support, even when faced with resistance.
  • Experience of supporting people who have poor mental health, addictions or who are ex-offenders.
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
