Norwich based homelessness charity St Martins is listed in the Sunday Times 100 Best Not for Profit Companies to Work for 2020.
St Martins is placed 33rd in the prestigious list which was published in a special supplement in the Sunday Times last weekend (February 22nd)
The charity was awarded an Outstanding two star rating in the scheme that assesses employee’s attitudes towards leadership, wellbeing, team working, pay and benefits.
Chief Executive Dr Jan Sheldon said, “One of our strategic ambitions is to be an employer of choice. This award is a testament to our fantastic team members, who work hard all year round and are dedicated to supporting vulnerable people in Norfolk. It is an honour to be recognised in such a highly-respected list, especially as it is the first time we have put ourselves forward for this assessment.”
St Martins pride themselves on offering a positive workplace culture that gives team members a sense of fulfilment and motivation. HR Manager Jo Gillies said, “We are one of the largest employers in the charity sector in the region, with 160 team members. The work can be challenging and we depend on our skilled and dedicated team to deliver high quality support to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We value our team members immensely and we are so grateful for their commitment.”

- St Martins have recently set up an environmental working group to look at the environmental impact of the charity.
- 89% of people feel a strong sense of family within their team.
- St Martins have an Employee Assistance Programme to ensure staff have access to free confidential counselling service.
