Avenue Junior School supports St Martins

Every year Avenue Junior School takes a charity collection as part of the school carol concerts.

This year they chose to support St Martins at the two concerts that were held at St Thomas church on Earlham Road. Hundreds of children took part in the concerts and there was a great crowd of parents and families.

It was a fantastic opportunity for us to share a little about the work we do to support homeless and vulnerable people in Norwich and Norfolk and an incredible £1,130.74 was raised over the two evenings.

Headteacher Debbie Dismore said, “We were so pleased to support such an important cause at Christmas. We know that homelessness has significantly increased over the last few years and that is is so important to support in any way we can to help people move forward in their lives.

“Christmas is such an important time for families and we hope that this Christmas, our support for St Martins will allow them to help more people and families in need. I am delighted that such a wonderful sum was raised but not surprised by the generosity, warmth and  empathy of the Avenues Community.”
