Aimee fulfilled a new year’s resolution this month as she climbed to the top of Mount Snowdon. She did it to raised funds for St Martins, and her partner Mitchell completed the challenge with her.
Aimee said, “Neither Mitchell or I had completed anything like this before, so we knew it was going to be a challenge. After completing 16 weeks’ worth of voluntary placement at St. Martins, I wanted to contribute more than my time to help the service grow. We decided to create a fundraiser for Under 1 Roof specifically to help support the learning and development provided to the people using the services there and potentially broaden the opportunities available to them. I’m so pleased we were able to exceed our initial target!”
Aimee said the hike itself was mentally and physically challenging but the views at the top were breath-taking and worth the struggle, so was the whopping £535 she raised. She said, “We loved it so much we’re returning to tackle Snowdon during the winter! We couldn’t think of a more deserving organisation to fundraiser for, the work and effort everyone at Under 1 Roof puts in is admirable and it was a privilege to learn so much from them all.”
