The Learning, Development and Support programme has received a small grant from the ‘Greening our Community‘ fund from the Norfolk Community Foundation. One of the sessions we have been running, as part of the activities funded through this grant, is litter picking. Each week Community Support Worker Amber visits three of our services around the city: Under 1 Roof, Dibden Road and Bishopbridge House, to spend a few hours with the people using our services to clean around Norwich’s green spaces. Amber said, “Although tidying the local area is fab, most of all, we just have a great laugh!”
Anz and James got stuck in- quite literally with James getting in between hedges to get the hidden litter! It was a lovely walk with great scenery down by the river and a chance for the people we support to do something a bit different with their day, get some fresh air and do something rewarding. There was lots of appreciation from people walking past which was fantastic for Anz, James and the team as the hard work was not going unnoticed.
Amber will continue to do her weekly litter picks every Wednesday encouraging the people we support to get out there and do something different whilst greening our community!
