Residents at our hostel on Dibden Road are making good use of a newly installed outdoor gym, thanks to the generosity of the family of Neil Davis.
Neil, known as ‘Nobby’, died earlier this year. Homelessness was a cause that was close to his heart and money raised in memory of Nobby was used to purchase and install the fitness equipment.
Nobby’s wife Tina placed handprints on the concrete next to a commemorative plaque as the gym was officially opened.
The new equipment provides a boost to the 33 people at the hostel because it means they have an easily accessible way to exercise. Regular exercise can help relieve stress, boredom and improve a person’s mental health and we are confident it will enhance our residents’ wellbeing.
