St Martins benefits from food donations from Bishop Herbert Lodge

Two of our tenants at Webster Court recently enjoyed a carol service in Drayton organised by Bishop Herbert Lodge of Freemasons who are based in Dratyon, with entertainment by the Norwich Wherry Brass Band.

Around £500 was raised at the concert, which was donated to local charities, including a local scout group. At the carol concert, lodge members and guests supplied a buffet, with spare cakes plus other non-perishable donated food items given to St Martins.

Worshipful Master Richard Garwood said, “Being based in Drayton we always like to help our local  community. Myself and other Freemasons are involved with 46th Norwich Scout Group and we wanted to help the homeless with our practical donation of food.”

Steven Hansby-Moore of St Martins said, “We enjoyed the friendly, festive atmosphere at the concert and a bonus to be able to bring the remaining food back for other residents at Webster Court to enjoy. The additional donations of food such as crisps, selection boxes and tins will be gratefully received by people who use St Martins services over the Christmas period.”
