Volunteer gardeners wanted to for new allotment project

Are you a keen gardener? We are looking for one or two volunteers with an interest in gardening to help with a new project.

Autumn is perhaps not the time for a lot of growing, but it is the time for some ground preparation! We have an area at Marlpit Community Garden in Norwich and would like to get two out of the six allotments dug over with a view to commence the project on 6th and 8th October.

Can you help with preparing the ground?

In addition, we are looking for volunteers to work with small groups of people (3 maximum) on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Person requirement:

  • Keen interest in gardening and/or a desire to learn along with our service users.
  • Able to meet the required timeslots (Tues 09:30 – 13:30 / Thur 09:30 – 13:30). This includes travel time but there may be a small amount of flexibility re timings.
  • Preferably a car owner with business insurance  cover (probable scope within budget to upgrade if required) although not essential.
  • All tools available on site although all participants will need to supply their own gloves.

If you can help or would like further information please contact Michael Emeney, Wellbeing Coordinator on 01603 699150 or 07920 446420 or michael.emeney@stmartinshousing.org.uk
